Embracing Fall in Baltimore
With the coming of colder weather and bountiful harvests, the return of autumn makes this the perfect time of year to enjoy some festive fall activities around Baltimore.
For a classic fall activity, how about visiting an apple orchard and pumpkin patch? We have two orchards for you to consider checking out, Weber's Cider Mill Farm and Baugher’s Orchard. At Weber’s Cider Mill, apples and pumpkins are ready to be picked this month until November. They have other fun activities to partake in, particularly on weekends when you can listen to live music from 12-4pm.
Baugher’s Orchard has a variety of apples for you to choose from, and they can be harvested by you on weekends with purchase of a ticket. If you don’t feel like picking apples, they also have a market in Westminster where you can access all their produce and dine in at their connecting restaurant.
For those of you who can’t part from the city this season, there is an opportunity for you to check out a rooftop pumpkin patch at the Four Seasons Hotel! Pick any pumpkins you wish and enjoy some of their seasonal treats as you do! This activity is available from Friday to Sunday throughout the month.
If you’re looking for some more fall fun, then how about visiting a cidery? At Two Story Chimney, you can visit their orchard and get a taste of the many ciders they have in production. You can bring your own food, but they also have a weekly rotation of food trucks on sight for you and your friends to enjoy.
The next cidery we wanted to share is Doc Waters Cidery. Here, you can reserve a fire pit or an igloo to sit at and enjoy one of their many hard ciders. They also have tasting sessions on Saturdays at 2:00 pm where you can taste four different ciders. Weekends are the time to visit, with live music playing throughout the afternoon and food trucks serving up delicious grub!
The Canton Crossing Fall Festival will be held on October 19th, making it the perfect day to enjoy fall festivities and activities. Try your best at their costume contest, or even bring your pet for the pet costume contest! Grab some of their festive treats, such as ciders and funnel cakes from one of the food trucks. Local vendors will also be visiting the festival, so shop around while listening to some live music by DJ Slinger.
On October 26th is the heavily anticipated Fall Fest Night Market! This event has free admission for all who wish to attend, and is another great opportunity to shop local with Baltimore vendors. Shop for some gifts while listening to live music at this one night only event.
For those of you who love the fitness community, check out the Fall into Fitness Brunch and Bootcamp! This event held at Jimmy’s Famous Seafood is a great opportunity to talk to more people about the joys of fitness while going on a morning workout. Attending this event comes with a free drink and a group brunch with everyone afterward.
The last event we have to tell you about is the Old Line Fall Fling. Enjoy some free liquor tastings, live music, and more at the Old Line Spirits Distillery on October 19th. This event also has games for everyone, is dog friendly, and will feature a brand new fall creation made with rum, whisky, vodka, and cider.
