Support Small Businesses in Baltimore this Black Friday and Small Business Saturday
The day after Thanksgiving is known as Black Friday—a day where there are deals to be had on holiday gifts. While many people head out to overcrowded big box stores, there’s plenty of ways to get your holiday gifts and support local businesses right here in Baltimore. Be sure to check out these local events, where you can shop at multiple small businesses all at once!
Black Friday
Over in Federal Hill is the Bazaart, an annual holiday craft marketplace at the American Visionary Art Museum. Here, you will find crafts and art pieces from 50 regional artists and craftspeople ranging from paintings to clothes to jewelry. The marketplace will be open on Friday and Saturday, so don’t fret if you can’t make it on Black Friday!
If you need a break from holiday shopping, be sure to stop by Black Friday at Max’s Taphouse, where you can take a break from the shopping and try rare, barrel aged stouts and porters. Their doors open at 11:30, so get down to Fells Point when you can!
Small Business Saturday
Small Business Saturday is the perfect time to support all of the local businesses here in Baltimore:

There is even a chance to take your pet’s picture with Santa! Drinks and holiday snacks from Bin 604 and Lebanese Taverna will also be available.
The Night Owl gallery in Mt. Vernon is hosting their own event, Shop Small Saturday. There will be tons of stalls for local vendors, artists, and artisans! Light refreshments will be available for any shoppers, so feel free to head up and check it out.
A Vintage and Maker’s Market is being held in Butcher’s Hill at the Charmer’s Club. Taking place from noon to five o’clock, you’ll find some of the best goods from local makers and vintage vendors. Some of the vendors present include Halsey Berryman and Queer Agenda Coffee!
For the ultimate showcasing of Black owned businesses, check out the Annual Black Owned Small Business Expo in the Inner Harbor! Here, you can explore a ton of different products and goods and also learn the inspiring stories behind several of these businesses. This is also a great opportunity for you to attend workshops and explore resources for other small businesses!
Another great event over in Remington is the Mini Small Business Saturday Market! Here, you can shop from ten different local vendors, including Wight Tea Co, Muddy Glass Ceramics, and Maxi Cif Designs.
This year will be the first year for the Hampden Holiday Market held at St. Luke’s Church on The Avenue. Explore two floors of over fourty local vendors and enjoy delicious goodies to eat and drink!
Another great event is the Small Business Saturday and Winter Opening Day event by Baltimore’s 32nd Street Farmers Market! Just head up to Waverly for the chance to shop at over a dozen different guest vendors and enjoy the different activities and music!
We hope that you’ll have a great time at these events and that you’ve found some small businesses to support. Supporting local Baltimore businesses is the best way for you to give back to our community. From the Anthem House family to yours, we wish you a very Happy Thanksgiving and happy shopping!
