Spending Memorial Day Weekend in Baltimore
Memorial Day falls on the last Monday of May and honors the men and women who died while serving in the U.S. military.
Since it is a national holiday, it provides many people with a day off and also kicks off the unofficial start of the summer season. Most people spend this holiday traveling to beaches or other destinations, but if you choose to stay in Baltimore, you’ll be able to enjoy all the local events without the hassle of traffic and airports.
Drag
The Absolutely Dragulous Shows are hosting the second show of Summer Slay-Cation @ Mobtown. Watch the best queens in the DMV while also enjoying food from the food trucks. Seats are first come first serve, so arrive early!
Ride in a parade
May Flowers Spring Ride starts at St. Mary’s park and follows a route for everyone to ride along. They invite you to bring your bike and helmet to be covered in all kinds of May flowers before traveling the route. Be sure to stay for the after-party at Mount Vernon Marketplace
Herb Festival
Head down to Leaking Park for the Baltimore Herb Fest on Saturday! While shopping for herbs and plants, there will be live music and rides on a miniature steam train, as well as food from local food trucks.
Celebrate Succulents
If you would like a succulent, head to Monument City Brewing for Succulent Building! Take some draft beer to drink while making your own terrarium for a succulent. You’ll also be taught how to take care of your new succulent.
Shop at the Farmers Market
There will be a Farmers Market at the Baltimore Museum of History on Saturday. Take the opportunity to shop locally for fresh produce, bread, artisan items, and much more!
Enjoy the Zoo
Brew at the Zoo is a very important fundraiser for the Maryland Zoo. It is also one of the biggest beer festivals in Baltimore! There will be live music, local artisan vendors, and samplings of over 80 different brews to enjoy.
Get Crabs
No Memorial Day Weekend in Baltimore would be complete without locally steamed crabs. Head to the rooftop crab deck at nearby Locust Point Steamers to enjoy them.
Poolside
Don’t forget, one of the best ways to spend a day off is poolside, right here at Anthem House.
