Baltimore: Let’s Spring into a New Season, Together
The spring equinox is just around the corner. This is a special day, occurring annually on March 20, where the day and night time are both equal in length. The northern hemisphere will be shifting into spring. So, gone are the days where you spend your time inside — it’s time to head out and enjoy the sun! Celebrate the coming warmth of spring in Baltimore by going to these activities, all not too far from your home here at Anthem House.
Get Active
Yoga is always a great activity to participate in. No matter how skilled you are, Spring Equinox Yoga with Baltimore yogi Marissa Walch at Whitehall Mill in Hampden is open to all. Sage rose tea will also be available, but please remember to bring your own yoga mat.
Take a walk, or go for a run, through Patterson Park! It’s known for its playgrounds, paved walkways, athletic fields, a beautiful pagoda, and more. Patterson Park is the largest park in Baltimore and was designed by the Olmsted brothers, whose firm designed Central Park in NYC. It’s perfect for a nice walk on a warm spring day!
See Spring Flowers
After the cold of winter and staying indoors, it is finally time to venture outside. Visiting the Sherwood Gardens can bring beautiful views of tulips and other seasonal plants.
The Rawlings Conservatory and Botanical Gardens has several greenhouses to explore, and is a great location for weddings, birthday parties, and more! Both locations are historical to Baltimore and are perfect for springing ahead.
Try joining a community garden this spring! Baltimore City Farms is offering a program that allows anyone to grow their own vegetables, herbs, and flowers at several parks. There are included amenities and social activities tied to these gardens as well.
Get Out on the Water
The sunset is always beautiful at any time of the year, and experiencing it over the water is a marvel to behold. This spring, enjoy a sunset cruise via a Baltimore Water Taxi, where you can take a one-hour tour from Fells Point. You can also stop at Max’s Taphouse beforehand to grab food and drinks.
Explore Outdoor Markets
The Fells Point Farmers Market is the best place to look for local food. This market is located in the same place as the original Baltimore Farmer’s Market from the 1700s. It can be easily accessed by the water taxi and hosts several local vendors.
